WORDS MAKE HARMONIOUS RELATIONSHIPS

November 25.   Romans ch 16-1 Corinthians ch 2

REPAIRING AND BUILDING A PLEASANT RELATIONSHIP

Respond gently when you are confronted and you’ll defuse the rage of another. Responding with sharp, cutting words  will only make it worse. Don’t you know that being angry can ruin the testimony of even the wisest of men? Proverbs‬ ‭15:1‬ ‭TPT‬‬

GOOD DAY: At the root of every sour or inharmonious relationship is bad and sharp words. I have heard many people say they avoid certain people because of the way that they speak. I have also cut some relationships off because of the way the other party speaks. Death and life are in the power of the tongue… Proverbs 18:21. There are many marriages that are unhappy or broken up not because of physical violence or lack of money but because of verbal abuse. Many people are mentally sick today because of the bad words that had been spoken to them and they have believed. Listen to this:

Nothing is more appealing than speaking beautiful, life-giving words. For they release sweetness to our souls and inner healing to our spirits. ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:24‬ ‭TPT‬‬. I love this translation of this verse as it speaks in today’s language. Be mindful of the words that you speak to other people because they not only ruin relationships but they can permanently damage another person. You have experienced being angry and choosing the venomous words you will speak to hit the offending person hard. Unfortunately, hurtful words are hardly forgotten; they keep playing up in the mind even at times that you least expect.

Are you in any sour relationship? Do you wish to repair it? Then start speaking life giving soul rejoicing words to the other party. Even when what you want to say is a fact, say it in love so that it lands well in the heart of the other party. Words damage relationships so use your words well. There are people burning themselves out just to negate the words someone used to hurt them and shred their self esteem. WORDS MAKE OR BREAK A RELATIONSHIP.

Today, I apologize to everyone who I have spoken in anger to and burnt the bridge that connected us. I say, ‘You are a good person’ to each of them.

Today, try and reach out to mend relationships that have turned sour through words that kill. Speak kindly to the person.

PRAY: Dear Lord, please touch my tongue by the fire of Your Spirit that only life giving, bridge building words will come from them.
