June 17. Psalms ch 106-108
TURN YOUR BATTLE OVER TO GOD
Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezekiah went up to the house of the Lord, and spread it before the Lord. this is the word that the Lord has spoken concerning him: “‘She despises you, she scorns you— the virgin daughter of Zion; she wags her head behind you— the daughter of Jerusalem. “‘Whom have you mocked and reviled? Against whom have you raised your voice and lifted your eyes to the heights? Against the Holy One of Israel! Isaiah 37:14, 22-23 ESV
GOOD DAY: I spent my childhood in a polygamous setting with my grandmother. She was one of the first generations of committed Christian in her time. That town in them was noted for idol worship and they were very potent with their evil magic. Anytime something mysterious happened to my grandmother or any of us, her mantra was ‘I leave it to God.’ She would pray, sing a hymn and recited the few psalms that she knew off head. God usually performed sometimes immediately but sometimes it took time. I never saw her fight her battles.
Hezekiah in the story from which we are meditating today deliberately engaged God as her battle man. He took the letter that the king of Syria sent to engage him in battle to the house of God and opened it for God to read. God read the letter and responded. You can read the whole of the story. God sent a message to him and fought the battle for him.
What is troubling your heart today? If you are a committed church goer, then write it out, it could be on your phone or paper. Take it to church and open it for God to read. If you are not, then open it to God wherever you stay to pray and see how He will respond to you. Engage God in matters that trouble you today with thanksgiving and see what happens.
PRAY: Hello God, I am here today to thank You first for who You Are and to spread this memo of what life is doing to me before You. Kindly read Lord, and deal with the matter as appropriate that man may know his limitations
