OF IMAGE AND IMAGE

February 15.     Deuteronomy ch 28-31

OF IMAGE AND IMAGE

God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Genesis 1:27 NASB1995

When Adam had lived one hundred and thirty years, he became the father of a son in his own likeness, according to his image, and named him Seth.

Genesis 5:3 NASB1995

GOOD DAY. With all that is happening all over the world, we always ask for where God is in all of it. It is a question we cannot but ask when subconsciously we believe that God is good and the author of all good things. The 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Turkey and Syria that killed thousands of people in an instant is definitely not good; the war in Ukraine claiming lives and leaving many homeless is definitely not good. There are many other personal things in the lives of different people that are not good. Loss of a child or children is definitely not good for a parent. I can tell you that. So where is God when all these are happening? I caught an understanding of the two scriptures above and it gave me peace.

IMAGE 1. God created heaven and the earth with everything in them including man in six days. He created everything with the word of His mouth but He molded man in His image and likeness. Everything thus created so far was God’s imagination. God breathed His breath of life into the man and man became like God, he had power to give his own life too.

IMAGE2. The second scripture Genesis 5:3 there man Adam created another man in his own image after his own likeness too. Since the fall of man in Genesis chapter 3, man has been able to create after his own imagination independent of God. The caveat however is that every creation comes with a condition. The creation in line with the IMAGE of God leads to life while the creation after the IMAGE of man leads to death. “The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may eat freely; but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.””   Genesis‬ ‭2‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NASB1995

‬‬

When man ate the fruit of this tree, he died meaning he became detached from God by default. He could judge good and evil by himself and he started experiencing death. We will continue looking into this tomorrow but take time to meditate on today’s exposition and send your understanding to us.

PRAY: Dear Lord, I want to follow Your imagination and not mine, open to me what Your imagination is at all times so I can log in with you.
