APRIL 1. 1 Samuel ch 19-21
BECAUSE I KNOW, I HAVE TO…
”And by knowledge the rooms are filled With all precious and pleasant riches.“ Proverbs 24:4 NASB1995
GOOD DAY: I had an interesting discussion with a man about how he runs his business and why he stays awake quite late into the early mornings. He said that he knows that if he doesn’t stay up that late, he can’t make much in his business. I said that he would be a good person for night vigils and he replied that he does not know what he would gain by staying up late for night vigil. His reply caught my attention and the above scripture threw some light into the attitude that people have towards what they do. When someone knows what he stands to gain by doing something, he will put in his best to get it done. To this young man, he doesn’t know anything that night vigil praying will give him that his routine daily prayers will not do. Knowledge in all its ramifications is what fills a house with treasures. Another man was blogging in a nonchalant way for months and he dropped it. One day, he realized how much his unemployed friend makes from blogging monthly. That quickened him to ask how he does it to make so much money. The friend told him and he denied himself all pleasures to get the right equipment that would make his blog attractive and excellent. Knowledge motivates. If you are not motivated by what you are doing, check what you know about the level it can take you. The higher the level you can see, the more motivated you will be and the more energy that you will put in. If you can’t see or do not know where a venture will take you, the less energy you will have towards it.
PRAY: Dear Lord, show where what I am doing and my way of life can take me.

Thank you for increasing the font size. It makes for easier reading.
The man who doesn’t know what he would gain by staying awake for night vigils, knows that he can pray at any time of the day and the Lord would hear his prayers and answer him. Keeping vigil, there is less distraction and the stillness of the night would calm our spirit and make us more sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
On the other hand the other man knows that he has to work for long hours and late into the night to make his business succeed.
Once we know that our input determines our output. we will put in all that it takes to succeed. The Lord being our Helper.
