UNDERSTANDING DEPRESSION.
Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God. Psalms 43:5 NASB1995
GOOD DAY: In spite of all the stigma that is attached to depression, we all suffer from it to some degree at different times. So much is being spent in combatting depression and mental health issues that it is worth it that everyone understands how to avoid it. Depression sets in when we need and desire something, we pray, we do all that we know to work towards it and we do not get it. We become frustrated and prolonged frustration leads to depression. This is the simple summary of the matter.
When hope’s dream seems to drag on and on, the delay can be depressing. But when at last your dream comes true, lifes sweetness will satisfy your soul. Proverbs 13:12 TPT
The way we are built is that the soul is the memory bank of everything we can be and we have experienced or learn. The Spirit is the power bank that powers whatever information the soul desires. The soul sends signal to the brain where it is worked out. When the out working fails and the desire does not go from the soul then frustration and depression result. I don’t want to involve all the big medical terms for the processes involved but the soul sends signals to the brain. And the signal triggers some reactions that eventually ends up in depression. Medicine can control the brain reaction so that depression process is blocked or truncated while the medicine is still active.
Science or medication will work on the brain but not on the soul so when the effect of medication wears off, the failed desire of the soul kicks in and the depression begins again. When you understand this, you will know the significance of how spirituality helps with depression and can stop it from happening. We will discuss spirituality in relation to depression tomorrow.
PRAY: Dear Lord, teach me to manage my soul.

Good morning ma’am. Nothing worth more than waiting on the Lord, believing in HIS word that HE will always come forth for us HIS children.
My own understanding of faith is that my God will always help even when my case is hopeless in the eyes of other. I always believe my God is too faithful to fail me .
