ANTIDOTE TO DEPRESSION
”Perfect, absolute peace surrounds those whose imaginations are consumed with you; they confidently trust in you.“ Isaiah 26:3 TPT
GOOD DAY: There is fact and there is truth. Fact is the state of things now. A person can be very rich today; fact. The same person can become poor tomorrow; still fact. Truth however is the unchanging word of God. God says He will supply my need according to His riches in glory; the truth that never changes. God says He feeds and clothes the birds of the air and he will care for
Me even more than them; the truth that never changes. The root of depression is what you anchor your soul on. If you anchor your soul on facts, then your soul never rests. It changes as the facts do. If you anchor it on the truth, then your soul is at rest as it patiently waits for the truth to be established again. I have found this to be the case several times even in my most traumatic times.
To anchor your soul on truth, you need to unlearn the facts you have learnt and put the truth in your soul. This sounds so simple like other words of God but it is powerful. As you read the Bible or listen to it taught in truth, you will become aware of your old beliefs and what God says about different aspects of life. The more you know, the more your soul is anchored on the word the more peace you have and the farther away depression is from you. One anchor that has kept my soul steady is: ”And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.“ Romans 8:28 NASB1995
No matter what is happening around me, God will cause it to work for my own good and that keeps me steady
All things shall work together for my good. Say this to yourself several times till it is your default thinking.
PRAY: Help me Lord to confidently trust in You and Your love for me.
