The temple and the tithe (3)

GOOD DAY: We have learned so far that 

1. TITHE belongs to God

“‘Thus all the tithe of the land, of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s; it is holy to the Lord.”  Leviticus 27:30 NASB1995

2 TITHE is food to be in God’s temple for God’s people. 

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house,.”

Malachi 3:10a  NASB1995

3 Our body is a temple of God. “Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” 1 Corinthians 3:16 NASB1995

IMPLICATIONS OF 3 ABOVE 

The implication of this is that every believer of Christ sealed with the Holy Spirit of God is a house of God. The question is which house of God can collect tithe of God? 

WHAT DOES THE HOLY SPIRIT DO?

1 He speaks to the person to direct him as to what to do. “Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go up and join this chariot.”” Acts 8:29 NASB1995

He must be allowed to guide the believer who houses Him.

In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus talked about the righteous and the wicked. Read it but I put here a summary of His pronouncement on the righteous 

“For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’”  Matthew 25:35,37,40 NASB1995

The hungry, thirsty, stranger etc. are His face to you that He wants you to look after. He is the people who need the miracle of supply for them to know Him and be closer to Him. Give His tithe to them and you have used it in a way that gives you eternal memorial with Him.

TESTIMONY: One time in church, I took my tithe envelope to Church and when the basket got to me, I heard the Holy Spirit say to me ‘Give the envelope to the woman next to you.’ I stopped and waited for a conviction as I could always go pay the tithe. I heard it three times with peace in my heart before the service ended. Just as we were saying the closing prayer, I gave her the envelope and I walked out. She ran to my car as I was waiting to pull out and said ‘Madam, thank God for your life. My son would not go to school tomorrow if he doesn’t have his fees. I cried to God for help. He sent you. Thank you for listening and obeying.’ I had a joy flow in me that I cannot express. 

If I had dropped the envelope in the church basket, it would have been useless to Jesus Christ as it did. 

This is one class of people who need the food that God put in your hand as His tithe to feed His children. Let Him lead you. 

Tomorrow, we shall see another group. Read this, search scriptures and think deeply on it before tomorrow. We shall go to another set of people that carry God’s name tomorrow. 

PRAY: Dear Lord, let me not put away Your instruction because of doctrines taught by man.
