help for the journey in faith

HELP FOR THE JOURNEY IN HOPE

“For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”  Romans 15:4, 13 NASB1995

GOOD DAY: We are not left unaided in the journey of hope in God and from God but the present age has little regard for God. Information about the ways of the world abounds and is freely accessible for that matter. The world is quick to suggest the ‘quick stress free’ way out that it ‘guarantees’ and we are quick to follow. This is why frustration and depression have become a modern day epidemic as the world has no enduring answer to any issue.

Scriptures are recorded for our instruction so that through them we may persevere and be encouraged as we navigate to our hope. We have however relegated scriptures to the background of our living. Governments are even making laws to ban scriptures from public places. Scriptures however help us to connect with God of hope who fills us with all joy and peace in believing that we may abound in hope. My experience with scriptures is the renewing of peace and joy each time I read or listen to it being read. The Holy Spirit gives confidence and joy to my soul even when hope seems like it will have no way.

Whenever I lose hope and see no way out, Jesus holds my hand through scriptures and the Holy Spirit and takes me above the obstacle to encourage me on my journey. Before you become discouraged and hopeless to the point of depression, try going to Jesus in the scriptures and ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes of understanding.

PRAY: Dear Lord Jesus, help me to value scriptures as my light in the journey of life.
