who to fear

August 7.      Isaiah ch 36-37

“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.”  Matthew 10:28,32-33 NIV

GOOD DAY: The body and the soul are two different components of man. Although we see them as a unit, they are different. This is how I became aware that they are different entities. If you identify with what I am going to say, go to the comment section and air your thoughts. 

Have you noticed that some days, your body is strong, sound and healthy? You have no pains anywhere and you have all you desire at that period yet inside you you are not okay, you are disturbed. This not being okay is not because of any internal physical discomfort. The part that is disturbed or not okay is your soul. 

Another day, your body is weak, tired and with some pains or discomfort outside or in your internal organs yet you are excited and joyful inside you. That is your soul that is joy filled. Anything can kill the body. Disease, war, accident etc. can kill the body anytime but only God can kill the soul in hell in His time. The soul is the real you. Unfortunately, many if not most of us are not aware of our souls. We don’t understand the soul and when Christians in particular are told to mind their souls, they think you are asking them to delve into something evil. If you observe your inner man like in the simple examples we started with, you will soon understand the soul’s reaction to various situations that you may not even be aware of. We need to study the soul so that we will learn how to manage it like we manage our bodies then we would be able to stand firm for Jesus Christ and not be ashamed of Him before the world. We shall also know how to possess our soul when Satan attacks us at any time without denying Jesus. 

PRAY: Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for letting me know that Satan cannot destroy my soul. Let this understanding empower me to resist and not fear him any time he tempts or tries me.
