go and stop sinning

August 19.      Jeremiah ch 8-10

GO AND STOP SINNING

“Then Jesus told him, “Get up, pick up your mat, and walk.” Afterward, Jesus found the man at the temple and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Stop sinning, or something worse may happen to you.”” John 5:8, 14

GOOD DAY: A man was given some natural medication that reversed his type 2 diabetes. The man who advertised the invention online said once reversed by his medication, the healed person can eat anything he wants like a baby and forget about diabetes. The healed man went and started eating all his beloved meals without restriction and in three months, his blood sugar spiked and diabetes was back.

Most of us don’t like the word sin because it looks like everything we like doing is sin because sin has been limited to the carnal realm alone dealing with adultery and fornication, stealing, killing etc that people can feel with the five senses. Sin is deeper than that. Jesus said: ““You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery’; but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” Matthew 5:27-28

It is not just actions that constitute sin but thoughts as well. God also said through prophet Micah: “Woe to those who scheme iniquity, Who work out evil on their beds! When morning comes, they do it, For it is in the power of their hands. They covet fields and then seize them, And houses, and take them away. They rob a man and his house, A man and his inheritance.” Micah 2:1-3 NASB1995

The thoughts of the heart could be sinful. Check your thoughts so that terrible things don’t happen to you.

Another sin we commit often is exposed here: “So if you know of an opportunity to do the right thing today, yet you refrain from doing it, you’re guilty of sin. ”James 4:17 TPT When you ignore doing the good that is within your power, it is sin. If you can help someone and you fail to do it, it is sin. Another definition of sin is: “All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death [one can repent of it and be forgiven].” 1 John 5:17 AMP

All these various ways to sin either in thoughts or in actions constitute sin that could draw sickness and other evils into one’s life. Science has confirmed what the Bible has said since the beginning. Anger, hatred, jealousy, covetousness, greed etc. are sins of the heart that have been scientifically identified as causative of sickness and freedom from them are potent cures or even aids to cure various diseases. So from today, purpose to accept the counsel of God and make it your inward and outward way of life.

PRAY: Dear Lord, thank You for making provisions for me to live in divine health. Please empower me to live in obedience to you.
