September 3. Jeremiah ch 49-50
UNSCROL AND FIND
“The synagogue assistant gave him the scroll from the prophet Isaiah. He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me. He has sent me to preach good news to the poor, to proclaim release to the prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to liberate the oppressed, and to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor. He began to explain to them, “Today, this scripture has been fulfilled just as you heard it.”” Luke 4:17-19, 21 CEB
GOOD DAY: Today, we are led to how Jesus found His purpose here on earth and He announced it to those around Him. He went to the synagogue and He was given the scroll of Isaiah where He found the statement related to His mission. That was the blueprint of how He operated while on earth. There is a statement about each vocation in the bible. For me and other teachers of the word, this is our blueprint “…and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place. So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.” Nehemiah 8:7-8 KJV Every teacher of the word must stay with the Holy Spirit to understand the word of God and teach others to have an understanding of what they read. For any vocation in general, this is the blueprint from God: “Slaves, obey your masters on earth in everything. Don’t just obey like people pleasers when they are watching. Instead, obey with the single motivation of fearing the Lord. Whatever you do, do it from the heart for the Lord and not for people. You know that you will receive an inheritance as a reward. You serve the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3;22-24 CEB
Do your work as unto Christ. Whatever your vocation is, there are codes of conduct in the bible that guides the practice of such vocation. Go into the bible, find that code and read it to understand it and follow it.
PRAY: Dear Lord, I pray that You make me understand my profession and do it as unto You
