the axe called word

September 17.               Ezekiel ch 29-31

THE AXE CALLED WORD

“Then the Lord stretched out His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me, “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth. See, I have appointed you this day over the nations and over the kingdoms, To pluck up and to break down, To destroy and to overthrow, To build and to plant.”” Jeremiah 1:9-10 NASB1995

GOOD DAY: A lady came for counselling because her husband does not appreciate everything she does. She said he keeps struggling to measure up to the standard of her ex girlfriend who called him a good for nothing man and dumped him. He is so obsessed with proving to his ex-girlfriend that he is a man to the extent that the wife has to pretend that he is a superman that he is not. Children are built by parents speaking good words to them. The worse you speak to people determines how they respond to you. A person called horrible by some people is said to be the best person by another. It is a matter of whether you build or tear down the person.

God put His word in Jeremiah’s mouth to pluck up and to break down, To destroy and to overthrow, To build and to plant.”” kingdoms. He was not to do this by a natural axe or other tools but by God’s word. The word in your mouth is an axe to build or pull down. You have to mind how you use it. Listen to this example to Job; “When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, there is lifting up; And he shall save the humble person.” Job 22:29 KJV. You shall use the word to lift up when men are cast down. Do not join to use your word to report a situation that is bad. Use your mouth to lift up or change the situation.

PRAY: Dear Jesus Christ, thank Your that my word can build or pull down: heal or wound. Teach me to make me submissive to whatever You want to do with the word in my mouth.

To God be all the glory. This homily beams the light of how powerful words are most especially from God and then believers. May our God and Father find us worthy to apply the principles of Jeremiah 1:9-10 to our daily living and our areas of influence as ordained by our God and Father, I pray in the Mighty Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
