ACTION DELIBERATE!
“I stop to praise you seven times a day, all because your ways are perfect! There is such a great peace and well-being that comes to the lovers of your Word, and they will never be offended. Lord, I’m longing for more of your salvation, for I want to do what pleases you.” Psalms 119:164-166 TPT
GOOD DAY: I live this translation of Psalm 119:164 and why do I love it? David made praise an ACTION DELIBERATE. He stopped whatever he was doing seven times a day to praise God. I don’t know how long he took to praise God each time but the fact that he punctuated his day seven times to praise God is of great interest and gain. Why was he praising the Lord? Because God’s ways and ordinances are perfect. Whatever you praise yields its strength to you that you may praise him more. Our musicians praise people and before you know it, the person being praised has ‘sprayed’ them all the money in their pockets. When you praise the Word of God, He yields great peace to you. Because David had enjoyed the salvation of the Lord, he praised His Word more longing for more of His salvation. If you love the Word of the Lord, you are hardly offended to stumble by whatever happens to you. This is because you see everything in the light of God’s word and perspective. Like we saw yesterday, your teacher will not depart from you and you will hear Him beside you telling you what to do. My experience in praising the Word of God is that what happens to others and they are broken happened to me and I became stronger. I learnt how to love more, understand people’s feelings more, be more patient and confident. Try praising the Word of God even if you have not walked in that word. He will surprise you how much peace you will enjoy and how sensitive you will become to your teacher.
PRAY: I praise You Lord for Your word of assurance of Your love that made You give Jesus Christ to die for me that I may be saved.
