beware of the spirit of hatred

September 19.    Ezekiel ch 34-36

BEWARE OF THE SPIRIT OF HATRED

“Then Harbonah, one of the eunuchs who were before the king said, “Behold indeed, the gallows standing at Haman’s house fifty cubits high, which Haman made for Mordecai who spoke good on behalf of the king!” And the king said, “Hang him on it.” So they hanged Haman on the gallows which he had prepared for Mordecai, and the king’s anger subsided.” Esther 7:9-10 NASB1995

GOOD DAY: Hatred is such an easy spirit to entertain and it is one spirit that doesn’t need any anchor to gain a foothold in the heart of its host. Its operation is so funny because it doesn’t need any particular reason to attack its victim. You can see someone and just hate his guts. A rich, happy man can hate a poor man for no reason. When hate is nurtured, it leads to lies and suggestions to harm or eliminate the hated person. That was the plight of Haman with poor Mordecai. Read the full story in Esther 7. Haman made plans not only to destroy Mordecai but all his relations and entire tribe. Haman had everything in wealth, family and honor with the king but yet he was not satisfied as long as he was seeing Mordecai the gateman. He formulated lies against all Jews and got the king to sign a decree to eliminate them. God was for Mordecai and his people and Haman’s plan backfired and the device he prepared to kill Mordecai was used to kill him and his children. Hatred leads its victim to self destruction cunningly. Beware of nursing hatred in your heart at all costs.

PRAY: Dear Lord Jesus, no matter what it costs, help me to clear my heart of hatred for anybody even if the person deserves it.
