CUSTOM TAILORED CROSS

““No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13 NASB1995

GOOD DAY: Everybody has loads of trials and temptations that they are ashamed to discuss with anyone for the fear of being mocked and judged. We carry this fear because of the way we have seen how others whose trials, temptations and falls have been treated, judged and stigmatized. Probably, you too have judged others before and you are carrying the load of your own temptations and trials but it is not obvious to others.

Today, the Lord visits the tried, tempted and burdened to tell you that trials and temptations are common to all. None of us is free of them and yours is not exceptional. You are not the only one. Don’t carry the burden on your chest to the point of breaking down mentally or physically. First, talk to Jesus about the burden. You don’t have to follow a prayer pattern, talk to him as friend to friend. Ask Him to help you with the trial or cross or whatever you call it. From my experience, I find that talking to Jesus in detail without hold-backs lifts a big burden off my chest. You may have to do the talk with Jesus a few times before anything happens in your heart or chest. He ministers peace to my soul and I feel free and expectant of a way out. He never tries or tempts us more than we can bear and makes a way of escape that He has prepared into which He will lead you.

You can then share with a God fearing spiritually mature person who can guide, support and encourage you. But first settle in your mind that you are not the only person with a cross or trial so if anyone mocks or judges you, it is a waste of his time. You just seek God and his way of escape so that you can bear the cross and stand.

PRAY: Dear Lord Jesus, I am sorry for any way I have made someone’s cross heavier in the past. Grant that love will reign among people and we shall build and not tear ourselves down.
