DON’T GIVE UP

April 26.      Job ch 27-30

CONTINUE, DON’T GIVE UP

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.

Galatians 6:9 ESV

GOOD DAY: We belong to the ‘fast food or get result quick’ generation. There are fertilizers, or genetically modified seeds that shorten the time between planting and harvesting. This has made us lose the sense of patience and persistence. People tell lies, manipulate others and do other dubious things to get the result that they want quickly but the end result of such a fast track is never long lived or enjoyed with peace of mind. I used to think of our verse for meditation today to deal with interpersonal relationships with others until the Lord opened my eyes to the broader meaning of it in personal lifestyle.

Ihad an understanding about the use and power of imagination sometime back. I practiced it religiously over a couple of my life issues. For some, I got almost immediate results but with others, I got the exact opposite of what I imagined. I was disappointed and reduced the number of times I visited the issues in my imagination. The Lord brought this Galatians 6:9 to my attention that if I keep thinking what is good, I will reap the reward in due season. Wao! I was taught by the Spirit that whatever I see that the bible says is good, I must persist at doing it without being tired. It will take its time to take root and yield its result. I went back to thinking and imagining in alignment with Philippians 4:8 on the matters with the peace of God guarding my soul.

I also found that the bible says it is good to give thanks to God at all times. I focused on gratitude in and out of season. I saw that Jesus said I should pray without getting weary; I resumed praying over those issues again. Some are resolved while others are still pending but I have peace that even I cannot explain. I want you to look at the good habits that the bible says we should practice and start doing them without being weary even when they seem not to be yielding results yet. In due season, they will start yielding tangible results coupled with the peace of mind that you would have been enjoying. Again I say don’t give up on doing good even when it seems not to be yielding results.

PRAY: Dear Lord, it gets tough and challenging keeping at doing good when it makes things more difficult and unrewarding. At such times Lord, help me to stand firm and keep my hope up for the appropriate reward in due season.
