don’t short change yourself

November 25.        Acts ch 24-26

DON’T SHORTCHANGE YOURSELF

“I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline at the table with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven; but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”” Matthew 8:11-12 NASB1995

GOOD DAY: I have met many people who are not Christians yet have so much peace around them and they radiate joy and calmness in the face of trying situations. These traits are not seen in believers in Christ under the same situations. Each time I have the opportunity to be close enough to any of them, I ask them the secret to their calmness in trying situations. Their answers are the same, they have surrendered to Higher powers or the Almighty or Creation or Universe or God to sort it out lining out “be still and know that I am God”. They get by by living out principles of the Bible and in most cases the words of Jesus without saying so. It then makes me think why we Christians fail to do what God asked us to do in Joshua 1:8 and keep suffering. God never told us to think about our challenges rather He asked us to think about His word day and night. “Recite this scroll of the law constantly. Contemplate it day and night and be careful to follow every word it contains; then you will enjoy incredible prosperity and success. I repeat, be strong and brave! Do not yield to fear nor be discouraged, for I am Yahweh your God, and I will be with you wherever you go!”” Joshua 1:8-9 TPT

This is the secret to enjoying incredible prosperity and success. While christians think of and complain about their challenges, the non Christian thinks about God and His word enough to fill his thinking base, and he shall have what the word says. Don’t be a child of God who judges or gives names to doers of the word rather be a doer of the word.

God promised Abram that Ishmael will be blessed with wealth like Isaac but it is through the line of Isaac that the promise of eternal life with Him will be fulfilled.  “And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.” Genesis 17:20 KJV So believers should not shortchange themselves and refuse to understand and live by the Spirit of God yet expect to have the fruit of the spirit.

PRAY: Dear Lord Jesus, give me understanding of Your ways that I may walk in them.
