Dynamics of hope in God

DYNAMICS OF HOPE IN GOD

Remember the word to Your servant, In which You have made me hope.”  Psalms 119:49 NASB1995

GOOD DAY: Hope is based on words or the foundation of hope is word. When that word is the word of God, then your hope is in God.

For in hope we have been saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for who hopes for what he already sees?” Romans 8:24 NASB1995

Hope comes into play where there is a need  so it is not seen. Once you have the need fulfilled, then hope is no longer needed.

Hope that comes from God has eternity in perspective. It is not hope for this existence alone for the earth shall pass away but eternal life remains forever.

“in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago,”

Titus 1:2 NASB1995

WITHOUT SHARING THIS ETERNAL PERSPECTIVE OF GOD, HOPE IN HIS WORD WILL BE A BURDEN. Therefore,

“If the only benefit of our hope in Christ is limited to this life on earth, we deserve to be pitied more than all others!” 1 Corinthians 15:19 TPT.

This implies that hope in Christ will be tested. The testing has the purpose of perfecting us for eternal life.

And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 5:3-5 NASB1995

It is the limiting of life to this existence here alone that leads to depression and all sorts of vices.

So I commended pleasure, for there is nothing good for a man under the sun except to eat and to drink and to be merry, and this will stand by him in his toils throughout the days of his life which God has given him under the sun.” Ecclesiastes 8:15 NASB1995 Solomon the king came before Jesus Christ when eternal perspective was a mystery and life was seen to be limited to this existence. He himself came to the conclusion after all his search that Vanity upon vanity all is vanity. Ecclesiastes 1:2 and “I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.” Ecclesiastes 1:14 KJV It is pursuit of vanity that vexes the spirit and brings depression.

I have practiced this eternal perspective myself and taught it to others and found it to make patience and joy possible in tribulation.

To overcome depression or even prevent it, one has to keep his gaze on eternal life. The purpose of God is to give us good and our expected end.

For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 We shall continue tomorrow but think on this through today to release the wisdom and power in the words of God.

PRAY: Dear Lord, help me to see Your perspective and stop the pursuit of vanity in Jesus name.
