BE ONE OF THE FEW
““Go in through the narrow gate, because the gate to hell is wide and the road that leads to it is easy, and there are many who travel it. But the gate to life is narrow and the way that leads to it is hard, and there are few people who find it.” Matthew 7:13-14 GNT
GOOD DAY: I have heard messages especially of prosperity preached and I have obeyed by giving as was prescribed. We were even told to pledge in anticipation of a big supply. I know many people who have done the same and probably more than I did yet we did not have any miracle windfall but became more broke. The same thing with healing. Many people have died of diseases following their obedience of the healing teachings of ministers of the word of God. Why does this keep happening? This question has kept bothering my mind as so many people have either left the faith or lost hope in the bible and God and are just coasting on in life discontented waiting for the end without joy or fulfillment.
THE NARROW AND THE WIDE
I found a lot of comfort and peace and meaning in the above scripture for meditation today. There are two types of gate that one can walk through to the kingdom of God. Jesus said He taught in parables and it is given to only few to understand the mysteries.
The wide gate is the gate of least effort. It is the gate where someone does the necessary hard work and comes up with instructions that the multitude follow without thinking.
What is this hard work? “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:8 KJV
It is the work of meditating in the book of the law that is the bible. Until you try thinking in the bible, you can never know how difficult it is. The cares of the world are so many and so loud and asking for attention that thinking in the word looks too simple a solution that we ignore it. So multitudes walk through this wide gate.
THE NARROW GATE
Until I became awakened to what my inner world is about, I never knew how difficult it is to steer it in the right direction. It is a serious work that demands all attention. It is as you pay attention to it and try to set it in the word of God that you see how narrow a gate it is. Unless you follow this narrow gate, you cannot make good success and prosper in all that you do. Thinking in the word of God gives understanding of how you are to face your life challenges which will give you peace of mind first then good results will follow without fail. Many people read the scripture but never think in it enough to understand it and be instructed. They find it easier to think in the box of the world system.
LEAVE THE WIDE GATE AND CROSS OVER TO THE NARROW GATE THAT LEADS TO LIFE.
PRAY: Dear Lord, touch my heart today to seek Your way to peace and good success in my life.
