April 16. Nehemiah ch 8-11
TOOL FOR LIVING
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

GOOD DAY. I was troubled in my mind and I could not say exactly what was disturbing me. I had peace deep within me but somehow I felt blank and unsettled. I knew I needed to hear from God. When I feel blank and unsettled within, I have grown to know that it has to be something spiritual that I cannot do anything physical about. I kept asking God to talk to me and make me see what it is. For two days I was in that state and on the third day, “Scripture is profitable for instruction” dropped in my head. I also heard “read the Psalms” so I remembered my old habit of reading through the Psalms in one to three days depending on how troubled I was and how long it took for me to receive answers, direction or just comfort.
I downloaded a new bible app and set it to the presentation I love and I started reading. By the time I got to Psalm 10, my mind settled, I became joyful and I had an insight into what was disturbing me spiritually. I was convinced God had taken over and my worries disappeared.
Christianity is more than saying prayers, it is living like Jesus. When you read scriptures, especially in the language that you like and understand, you will hear God speaking to you directly.
Scriptures and teaching of it must serve these purposes in the hearer’s life. 1. It must teach you something about how you should live life ; 2 It must show you where your life is disagreeable with God; it must set forth the correction that you need if any; it must train you in righteousness so that you will be complete and equipped for every good work. It is as you study scriptures that you will learn to live in a way that will make you whole and rooted no matter what life brings. Know what you will gain by studying scriptures and let nothing stop you from doing so. Peace of mind and inner strength for good works with understanding of the end of any route you choose to take are the benefits of studying and being familiar with scriptures. See it clearly written here by Apostle Paul “Now these things happened to them as an example, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.”
