ETCHED IN THE MIND

December 28.                           Revelations ch 9-12

ETCHED IN THE MIND (Faith or Sight)

“for we walk by faith, not by sight—”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

GOOD DAY. Nobody can see the mind but there are pictures etched in every mind. Some are deep and some are very light and can be easily wiped off. These images or pictures etched in the mind determine the circumstances of the person’s life.

How do these pictures or images get there? What camera was used to take the pictures? It is the camera of the five senses namely ears, eyes, smell, touch and mouth. You observe a certain trend with the five senses and it gets etched in your mind that if such a circumstance comes your way, you must manifest the picture in your mind. Pause and look into your life to see such ideas or pictures that have been etched in your mind. They may be desirable or otherwise. If you watch circumstances in your life, you will see that they follow the images or ideas that are etched in your mind. This is living by SIGHT.

To change what you do not like in your life, then you have to wipe away the things etched in your mind by sight to replace them with those that will be etched by faith. Faith is what you cannot see with your five senses but you know in your mind that they are possible or exist. Take for example, it is etched in your mind that your life cannot improve beyond the level you are now because of your salary. You desire a little more comfort and you cannot afford it by your sight, most likely, you begin to envy those around you who can. This has continued as a cycle over time now and instead of getting better it is getting worse.

The good news is you can change that now. You can wipe lack that has been etched in your mind by thought of abundance. As a Christian, you can see yourself in Psalm 23:1. The Lord is my shepherd. I lack nothing. See yourself in your mind already having your desire. Repeat Psalm 23:1 as many times as you can to wipe lack etched in your mind and replace it with having enough for your need. With time as lack is etched out, your mind will become open to ideas you can pursue that will fulfill your need. I have etched “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me AND in Him I move in Him I live and have my being” in my mind and I overcome most obstacles with the picture of these scriptures.

PRAY: Dear Lord, help me to renew my mind with Your word.
