HEARING BUILDS FAITH
Then He said to them, “Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given. For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.”
Mark 4:24-25 NKJV
GOOD DAY: Have you wondered why many people only have faith by mouth and not in deed? I asked God for the reason because it is time for we Christians too to start researching into the spirit of Christianity. I was reminded of a three day retreat experience I had with a group of people some years back. I did not join them for most of the group activities, rather I stayed in a room listening to the entire four gospels and psalms daily. On the third day at closing when I was called to pray, the utterances that were coming were not only prophetic as they all came to pass but healing to diseases we never knew some people had. I did not understand the experience until I was writing this piece. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of Christ. So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Romans 10:17 ESV
If you put this with our scripture today, the more of the word of Christ that you hear, the more faith will be given to you. We do not take heed of what we hear especially in this age of social media. You are given more fruit of what you hear and the little fruit of what you don’t hear is taken from you.
Because I want a working faith, I will listen more to the word of Christ. You want more faith, then listen more to the word of Christ.
PRAY: Dear Lord, please help me in my resolve to listen more to Your word. Let me use my phone as the instrument to listen to your words.
