FOR A PROFITABLE WALK WITH GOD
“Teach them God’s decrees, and give them his instructions. Show them how to conduct their lives Exodus 18:20 NLT
“then teach them the statutes and the laws, and make known to them the way in which they are to walk and the work they are to do.” Exodus 18:20 NASB 1995
GOOD DAY: I observe from requests for prayers that people send over the years and the way posts and programmes on prayers draw much attention and crowd yet the percentage of answered prayers are low with peace of mind eluding most of the people. This has made Christianity less attractive. To make life in Christ profitable and fulfilling, there are conditions set out by God. Exodus 18:20 above summarises it. There is a way in which we are to walk and how to conduct our lives. When these two are absent, there is no anchor for prayer to work and when we fulfil God’s demand, peace of mind and blessings follow like the law of gravity. It is further expanded in the following passage by God in; “If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, I will send you the seasonal rains. The land will then yield its crops, and the trees of the field will produce their fruit. “I will give you peace in the land, and you will be able to sleep with no cause for fear. I will rid the land of wild animals and keep your enemies out of your land.” Leviticus 26:3-4, 6 NLT. There are things that God will do after you have done your part. God will not plant for a farmer for example but if he plants, he can water or God can send rain, then only God gives the increase. Therefore, for a profitable walk with God, you need to listen to Him and do what He says. A farmer can pray many prayers but if he does not plant, he cannot have a harvest.
PRAY: Dear Lord, I pray that I will strive to know You myself no matter the human teachers that teach Your word. Grant that those who teach will do so in truth and love.
