August 21 Jeremiah ch 14-15
FOUNDATION OF FAITH. 2
“But Daniel made up his mind that he would not defile himself with the king’s food or wine. So he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself.”

“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.” Daniel 1:8 KJV
“Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai, “Go, assemble all the Jews who are found in Susa, and fast for me; do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maidens also will fast in the same way. And thus I will go in to the king, which is not according to the law; and if I perish, I perish.””

“But someone came and reported to them, “The men whom you put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people!” When they had brought them, they stood them before the Council. The high priest questioned them, saying, “We gave you strict orders not to continue teaching in this name, and yet, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.” But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.” Acts 5:25, 27-29 NASB
GOOD DAY: The foundation of faith is to have purpose in one’s heart or to be resolved to not sin against God or deny Him even if obedience means death. This kind of faith is not exercised these days and so we do not experience God standing for His people as of days of old.
Today, think on these scriptures and see how you stand for your purpose to live by what God says. Ask the Holy Spirit to open up these scriptures to you.
PRAY: Dear, Lord Jesus, teach me to discern Your will at all times and stand for it no matter what.
