August 16. Jeremiah ch 13-15
FOUNDATION OF TRUST
This is why I suffer as I do. Still, I am not ashamed; for I know Him [and I am personally acquainted with Him] whom I have believed [with absolute trust and confidence in Him and in the truth of His deity], and I am persuaded [beyond any doubt] that He is able to guard that which I have entrusted to Him until that day [when I stand before Him].
2 Timothy 1:12 AMP
GOOD DAY. Most if not all of us say that we trust God but it does not go beyond our lips. Don’t feel guilty because it is not your fault. It is because trust is generated out of personal acquaintance. At Eden, mankind lost natural personal acquaintance with God; we died spiritually and became independent intellectual beings. We therefore find it easy and natural to trust our intellect and what we can feel with our five senses than to trust God who we cannot feel or rationalize. For example, it is easier to trust science for healing than to trust God. It is easy to trust weapons of war for defense than to trust God. With the prophets and apostles who had personal acquaintance with God, they were able to trust him even if it meant dying. Personal acquaintance makes you know the character and worth of the person that you want to trust. Hear David when he was going to face Goliath:
David said, “The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and may the Lord be with you.”

He rehearsed his personal acquaintance with God in the hearing of Saul and his army. He trusted God to deliver him. If you will trust God completely and at all times, you need to be personally acquainted with Him. You must understand His mode of action. You must be able to say like Apostle Paul that you know whom you have believed with absolute trust and confidence. Even in the face of death and personal loss, you will still trust Him. Even when He has not answered your prayers the way you will want it, you will still trust Him. This is why practicing His presence plays a major role. When you become conscious of Him and His presence with you at all times, You will learn and know how to trust Him deeply. Removing Him from the scheme of things in the world makes trusting Him difficult and mankind keeps looking for more and new ways to get and secure what only God can give. Jesus came that whoever chooses can become personally acquainted with God. We will look into ways of getting acquainted with Him tomorrow. Do you have issues you cannot resolve yourself, practice the presence of God with you as you would a friend and wait as He guides you through.
PRAY: Dear Lord, help me to know You and be acquainted with You. Teach me Your ways that I may be able to trust You. Come Lord Jesus come.
