From idea to action

May 24.             2 Chronicles ch 26-28

FROM IDEA TO ACTION 

 ““ ‘This is what the Lord God says: At that time ideas will come into your mind, and you will think up an evil plan. You will say, “I will march against a land of towns without walls. I will attack those who are at rest and live in safety. All of them live without city walls or gate bars or gates.” Ezekiel 38:10-11 NCV

GOOD DAY: I use myself as an example and wonder how many ideas that used to come into my mind daily. There were many from irrelevant to very relevant ones. I didn’t know how to process the ideas and the most prominent at any particular time just controlled me. I was a slave to money as the mother of most ideas. Then I began to read the word of God and learnt to filter ideas that entered my mind. It happened by and by until now that it is like there is a gate at the door of my mind that filtered ideas coming in. That gate was formed by the word of God.

When an idea enters your mind and it is retained because many of them enter and pass out immediately, then you begin to think about the idea. You can think of it in either of two ways. You can think of it in the line of the word and fear of God or you can think of it in line with the other way of the world or the devil. Deep continuous thought in whichever way you think is what informs what action that you will take. 

The reasoning of the world is natural with man. We inherited it from Adam. The reasoning of God however has to be learnt through reading the bible and wholesome books and the Holy Spirit helping man to understand the word and have the power to obey. This also forms the foundation of praying for deliverance or a change of mind for somebody and even for yourself. This is what therapists aim to do with their clients. A Christian therapist will plant the idea of Christ and what He gives the soul while the secular therapist will use science to alter the mind set of his client. 

PRAY: Dear Lord, help me to shut the door of my heart against unwholesome ideas but open it wide to You to enter.
