May 22. 2 Chronicles ch 19-22
GROWING TO HIS IMAGE
“And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.” 2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV
GOOD DAY: Have you noticed that whoever you behold regularly, you pick up their nature? You do things as they do it because you begin to reason like them. To behold in the dictionary means to see or observe (someone or something, especially of remarkable or impressive nature). We were made in the image of God. We lost that image for another image when Adam and Eve beheld the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Genesis 3:6. The word saw is from Hebrew word pronounced raw-aw’ meaning:

to look at, see, regard, look after, see after, learn about, observe, watch, look upon, look out, find out
to see, observe, consider, look at, give attention to, discern, distinguish

to cause to see, show
to cause to look intently at, behold, cause to gaze at.
So as you gaze intently at the word of God, you will start taking on the image of God. Is there any habit that you want to change in your life? Search for the word of God concerning it and be looking at it intently aside from the whole word of God that you are reading. I have tried it and it has worked for me. I was not a patient person by nature. It made me clash with people who could not move at my pace. I looked for passages on patience and its inclusion in 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8 was the one that captured me most. I beheld it as many times as possible in a day and I discovered that my nature was transformed. Try it too and see.
PRAY: Dear Lord Jesus, open my eyes to your transforming word for me that will make me take on your image.
