Hand in hand to survive a time like this

June 18.      Psalms 1-8

Hand in hand to survive a time like this

“And the congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul; and not one of them claimed that anything belonging to him was his own, but all things were common property to them. And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all. For there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses would sell them and bring the proceeds of the sales and lay them at the apostles’ feet, and they would be distributed to each as any had need.”   Acts 4:32-35 NASB1995

GOOD DAY: It is time to help each other out of lack just as it was done in the early church. I am not advocating that the rich should go sell their properties and give the proceeds to the pastors for distribution to the poor  for I know that will be impossible but I am asking us to be aware of the people in our congregations who lack even the basics.

This is the time to know how God wants tithes and offerings to be utilised. Big buildings and auditoriums are of no good to God when His children are hungry in the midst of plenty. The pastor does not need multiple cars to his name when his flock is hungry. Teach your rich ones not to give it to you personally but to arrange to share with the poor ones.

““When you have finished paying all the tithe of your increase in the third year, the year of tithing, then you shall give it to the Levite, to the stranger, to the orphan and to the widow, that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied.”Deuteronomy 26:12 NASB1995

Tithe is God’s money that is the commonwealth of God to provide for the less privileged in the congregation not to build the overseer’s wealth. You as a person should ask God for His hungry children whom you can help with your tithes. There are many people well dressed in the church who are seriously in need of help that the overseer or pastor or bishop has turned away. God is pleading with christians today to be their brothers’ keeper. We shall  continue this discussion but today, open your heart to the Holy Spirit to direct you how you are to help the poor around you.

PRAY: Dear Lord, please teach us to love You by loving You in our brothers.
