“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.”

GOOD DAY: The above scripture is the most quoted about TITHES and most times in their preaching, ministers don’t teach the flock why the tithes are important. It is so there will be food in God’s house. Food in God’s house for who? ““When you have finished paying all the tithe of your increase in the third year, the year of tithing, then you shall give it to the Levite, to the stranger, to the orphan and to the widow, that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied. Deuteronomy 26:12 NASB2995.
Levites (ministers of God), strangers, orphans, widows, so that they may eat and be satisfied. Israelites were farmers then so tithes were in farm produce. Now tithes are in money so the money brought as tithe is not for the founder of the church or a single person but the commonwealth of all God’s children. The church of God must not be without money to look after all the children of God. Not because God is coming to spend the money Himself but so that those who work for Him and the less privileged can have money to meet their needs. Pastors boast of luxury cars and compete with private jets etc. while the multitudes of God’s children are going without food, basic education accommodation and other basic necessities. Ministers who teach truth are becoming rare because hunger and poverty is causing them to abandon the truth that they may survive. We refuse to see that the church is becoming powerless because there is no unity or truth spoken again as everyone struggles for his own survival! Remember that God gives gifts to people for the good of all. 1 Corinthians 12:7.
Tomorrow, we shall consider the TEMPLE of God now and how to know where to put your tithe. Does your tithe have to go to your pastor or local church alone? God is saying that there is enough food in His house for everyone’s basic needs to be met. Let us try to understand how to share what He has provided for His body.
PRAY: Dear Lord, in Your mercy, open our eyes of understanding to know how to share Your blessings to all Your children.
