he will never forget nor ignore me

December 3. 1 Corinthians ch 11-14

“…he will never forget nor ignore me. He will never slumber nor sleep; he is the Guardian-God for his people, Israel. Yahweh himself will watch over you; he’s always at your side to shelter you safely in his presence.” Psalms 121: 3c-5 TPT

GOOD DAY: Soothing and gladdening as this version of this portion of Psalms 121 is, situations of life sometimes make it difficult to believe. Most times, we are like
Gideon. When God’s angel appeared to Gideon, listen to their discussion: “Yahweh’s Angel suddenly appeared to Gideon and said, “Yahweh’s presence goes with you, man of fearless courage!” “Me?” Gideon replied. “But sir, if Yahweh is truly with us, why have all these troubles come to us? Where are all his miracle-wonders that our fathers told us about when they said, ‘Did not Yahweh deliver us out of Egypt?’ But now Yahweh has abandoned us and put us under the power of the Midianites.”” Judges 6:12-13
When life doles its troubles on one, the question comes up if God is really mindful of one. If God Himself is watching over me, why do the wicked and evil prevail? This is where the work of faith is. Jesus told the people of His time that the work of God is to believe on whom He has sent. Not Just Jesus as a person but even the word He sends to us. “Jesus answered, “The work you can do for God starts with believing in the One he has sent.”” John 6:29 TPT
To work the works of believing God’s word, you have to say it to yourself for as long as it takes for it to settle in your heart and become your thinking no matter what life presents. Your sight will keep telling you what it sees or perceives while you have to put it under control with what God says in His word. This is hard work. When the word that God is with you and He will never forget or ignore you enters your heart, it is very comforting and strengthening yet to maintain that in the face of contradiction is really work.

PRAY: Dear Lord, I ask that You teach me how to work the works of God to enhance my life and lives of others.
