June 27. Psalms ch 133-135
HOPE
“Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.”
Romans 12:12 ESV
GOOD DAY: When I call home to check on the well-being of people and the state of the country, everybody complains of tough times and feels very gloomy. When I tell them that it is the same all over the world, they feel it is better in some countries than others. There is even slang for people even emigrating from the country to greener pastures. In the greener pastures, people there too complain of hardships and migrants even face tougher times. For the whole world, the secret to happiness and joy is hope. Hope is defined as a feeling of expectation and desire for a particular thing to happen. In our trials, we must know where our hope comes from. God has His good thoughts towards us for He says
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 ESV If your hope is from God, then you will have joy because no matter what, you live in the joy that He who promised is able to do it and He never fails.
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful.”
Hebrews 10:23 ESV. Hope from God is not tied to any place so unless He instructs one to shift location, doing so will not give any joy. Rest in the promise of God gives joy even while patiently waiting for its fulfillment. I invite you to a journey in hope where we rejoice together now as if the hope has manifested.
PRAY: Help me dear Lord to You enough to be able to live and rejoice in the hope of Your promise to me.
