learning to love myself

LEARNING TO LOVE MYSELF

“No one abuses his own body, but pampers it—serving and satisfying its needs. That’s exactly what Christ does for his church!” Ephesians 5:29 TPT

GOOD DAY: It is true that no one abuses his own (physical) body but tries to pamper it and take care of it. To understand who we are, let us consider this scripture;  “For as he thinks within himself, so is he. He will grudgingly say, “Go ahead and eat all you want,” but in his heart he resents the fact that he has to pay for your meal.” Proverbs 23:7 TPT.  The real person is not the physical body that you encounter with your five senses but the inner person; his thoughts. Thoughts produce emotions like happiness, joy, self worth, sadness etc.  For a person to love himself, he has to think thoughts that give him good emotions, self esteem about himself. In the past, when I messed up, I would say that I am dumb inwardly to myself to have messed up. Some of us only remember our pasts and tell ourselves we are no goo and so on. Such thoughts erode your self worth. Rather than say that, I now say Bose, you tried. Next time will be better making me patient with myself. Learn to think worthy thoughts about yourself. If you can’t do it to yourself, you can’t do it to others. You are worthy of your good thoughts and good emotions. You should be kind to yourself, believe in yourself and acknowledge your goodness. Rejoice when you finish anything you set out to do and be kind and patient if it does not turn out the way you want. Be happy and love the way every part of your body is. Approve of yourself always and as you love yourself, you will love others and draw love to yourself. You deserve your love so shower yourself with it. Tell yourself you love yourself over and over even if you don’t at first or it sounds strange to you till you actually start loving yourself. My inner talk about myself will always be loving and good. Self love has nothing to do with selfishness but self appreciation.

PRAY: Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I thank You that You love me when You made me and love me enough to die for me. Help me to love myself as You love me.
