LOVE THAT HEALS

          LOVE THAT HEALS

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:4-8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

GOOD DAY. Yesterday, I talked about how the foundation of the earth is shaking and what we can do to help. We saw that we are gods and sons and daughters of the Most High; we also answered the question ‘who is God’. God is Spirit and we too are spirits. God is Love and we too should be love. Today, we shall consider who Love is so each of us can assess ourselves if we are love or not.

Love is patient. Patient means able to accept or tolerate delays, problems, or suffering without becoming annoyed or anxious. Are you patient?

Love is kind. Kind means generous, helpful, and thinking about other people’s feelings. Are you kind?

Love does not envy: envy means a feeling of discontented or resentful longing aroused by someone else’s possessions, qualities, or luck. Are you envious?

Love does not boast. To boast means to talk with excessive pride and self-satisfaction about one’s achievements, possessions, or abilities. Do you boast?

Love is not proud. Proud means having or showing a high or excessively high opinion of oneself or one’s importance. Are you proud?

Love does not dishonour others. Dishonour means to put a person in a state of shame or disgrace.

Love is not self seeking. To be self seeking means having concern for one’s own welfare and interests before those of others. Are you concerned about your own welfare first without thinking of others?

Love is not easily angered: Anger means a strong feeling of annoyance, displeasure, or hostility. Are you easily angered?

Love does not keep a record of wrongs. Do you?

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Do you do all these to those you proclaim to love?

Love never fails. This is the one that beats me of it all. LOVE NEVER FAILS. It is eternal. Do you now see that love carries a heavy responsibility? No wonder there are some people who never use the word love because they appreciate the responsibilities  attached to it. If as individuals and as nations we can live in love, the earth will not shake. Man has been able to subdue the earth but because he does not love, all his conquests of the earth are amounting to nothing. Let us love to have meaning in living.

PRAY: Lord, let me use love as my compass in the way I live.
