August 18. Jeremiah ch 6-7
MY PURPOSE IS TO TAKE CARE OF YOU
“Now this is what the Lord says— He who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine! When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you go through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Isaiah 43:1-2 BSB
GOOD DAY: YOU ARE MINE says Jesus. I will not cast you away. “But everyone my Father has given to me, they will come. And all who come to me, I will embrace and will never turn them away.” John 6:37 TPT. In Yoruba culture, a man comes to a girl’s parents to ask for her hand in marriage promising that he will take care of her no matter what. At points like that, I cry for the prostate young man knowing the gravity of such a promise. Jesus is saying here that you are His, when you pass through the water, He is with you and the water will not overwhelm you and when you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched. The waters and fires that life brings your path will not take your soul from Jesus for His purpose is to protect your soul from being lost in hell. I was reading the biography of a renowned man of God who was writing daily devotionals that have brought and stabilized so many people in the faith yesterday. He first lost his wife to cancer, then three years after, he lost his first son to alcoholism and later, he lost his second son to a heart attack and he was left alone. All these waters and fires did not shake his faith or change his message about the love of God for him and mankind till he died in January 2006.
What are you going through right now? If you have yielded to the call of God to come to Jesus, you are His, He is with you and He will never cast you off. Whatever is happening to you is happening directly to Him and He can fix it if you will relax in His embrace and listen to Him. Jesus does not abuse the covenant of love like we humans do. He does not fail in His promises, we only need to understand Him. He acknowledges that we will have trials and temptations but then He will be with us. Relax in the love of Jesus today and see Him carry you as you go through the bends and turns of life. His purpose is to take care of yourself and see you through.
PRAY: Dear Lord Jesus, I thank You for your Love that never fails. Help me to stand firm in your love.
