August 2. Isaiah ch 37-39
SECRET OF INNER STABILITY IN A SHAKY WORLD
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3 ESV
GOOD DAY: New day new revelation of what mankind is doing through technological inventions that are threatening the existence of the world. There are rumors of wars and real wars. There are natural disasters reported all over the place. In short, there is little or no good news at all in the world.
In all of this, I see a set of people who are not moved at all. They play, eat, sleep and boast of their source of strength. When danger is coming, they run to their strength for shelter. You can guess who these people are. They are children. They trust their fathers so much that depending on how strong they perceive their father to be such is their trust and boast. No wonder Jesus said we must be like them to enter the kingdom of God. and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18:3 ESV
Unless we as adults can stay our mind on the Lord our Father and trust Him, we cannot have peace. I do this by praising God and thanking Him for everything I am able to do as the default state of my mind. When things happen that shake me inwardly and praise does not stabilize me, I turn to reading the Psalms or the gospels until my mind is at peace again and I have inner strength. You have to find the way or ways you stay your mind on the Lord so that you will be unshaken by whatever happens but you will have help from above and within you. You can enjoy peace, assurance and guidance as you stay your mind on God and trust Him to do that best for you in all situations just as a child trusts his father.
PRAY: Dear Lord, help me to become a child to you so I enter the rest of the kingdom of God.
