POVERTY AND RICHES 2
“And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry.” But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared?’ So is the man who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”” Luke 12:19-21 NASB
GOOD DAY: To be honest, we all will love the material state of this young man. In fact, he is better than most people as he decided to take a rest for his soul to enjoy what he had stored up. People of this generation will still want more. Poverty of spirit makes a person to forget God whether he is rich or poor in material wealth of this world. I said yesterday that poverty of spirit is a pandemic that is threatening the existence of the whole world. It is such that man cannot formulate a vaccine for it. It can only be stopped by a return to God. Let us look at the works of poverty of spirit. It is poverty of spirit that makes a man decide to sponsor a research to depopulate the earth. It is poverty of spirit that makes a man generate AI that would lie against another man to hurt him. It is poverty of spirit that makes a person choose to change his sex; it is poverty of spirit that makes a leader choose war over peace; it is poverty of spirit that makes a poor man choose crime to get material wealth. It is poverty of spirit that sweeps truth or facts under to exalt lies! World wars were a result of poverty of spirit and the next one is round the corner that may wipe the whole of mankind away. Apostle James puts it clearly when he said:
“What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage war in your members? You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask.” James 4:1-2 NASB1995. Tomorrow, we shall consider riches toward God but before then, examine yourself to see your poverty of spirit.
PRAY: Dear Lord, open my eyes to see that the love of worldly wealth at the detriment of my wealth towards you will lead to death and loss of it all.
