POWER TO LIVE
From one person God made all nations who live on earth, and he decided when and where every nation would be. God has done all this, so that we will look for him and reach out and find him. He isn’t far from any of us, and he gives us the power to live, to move, and to be who we are. “We are his children,” just as some of your poets have said.
Acts 17:26-28 CEV
GOOD DAY. I looked at this scripture and concluded that man really has nothing to boast of except God. It is He who gives us power to live, to move, and to be who we are. He is the One who decides where each one of us will live. This is what we shall look at today. Dieticians and doctors would have us believe that it is the food that we eat that gives us power to live but I am seeing that this is not not true. If food is what gives us power to live, then food introduced into a dead person or organism should bring them back to life. Food is neither life nor the power to live. This is why Jesus said… “It is written and forever remains written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes out of the mouth of God.’ ”Matthew 4:4 AMP. Food alone is not the power for life. When we seek to live long, we are advised to eat healthy (which is good), exercise, which is good too, and a couple of other healthy living suggestions. However, we see people who practice all these things yet die young, some even die while in sports competition while there are others who violate all the advice yet live long. What this tells us is that it is not food or anything outside of us that gives life or power to be who we are. I like many people, have always interpreted Mathew 4:4 to mean living by the precepts of God but it is more than that. It means that it is in God we have the power to do all things and be who we are. That power flows in us on a daily basis. If the power stops, we die. If we can study this power, we will know how to channel it for our good and the good of others. Note here also what Apostle Paul said: Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us,
Ephesians 3:20 AMP
It is the power of God that is at work in us to make us who we are. We shall look in depth to understand this life power more.
PRAY: Dear Lord, thank You for being the life in me. Help me to know and understand You.
