July 7. Proverbs ch 10-12
ROOT OF FRUSTRATION, ANGER AND BITTERNESS.
Abel also brought a gift—the best portions of the firstborn lambs from his flock. The Lord accepted Abel and his gift, but he did not accept Cain and his gift. This made Cain very angry, and he looked dejected. “Why are you so angry?” the Lord asked Cain. “Why do you look so dejected? You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.” Genesis 4:4-7 NLT
GOOD DAY: This is the first time in the bible that we heard about anger and frustration leading to murder. The same thing still happens now; people get frustrated, become angry and jealous then they commit different crimes.
The cause of frustration and discomfort for no apparent reason is when we don’t act in a way that pleases God. The number of frustrated and angry people we see all over the world is an indicator of how far away from God humanity is. When the disciples asked Jesus to eat after they brought food from town, Jesus gave them where and what real food is.
Meanwhile the disciples were urging him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.” But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.” So the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought him something to eat?” Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.
John 4:31-34 ESV
It is in doing the will of God and accomplishing His work that brings satisfaction. Do you feel like you have a right foot in a left shoe? It is because you are not doing the will of God. Are you disgruntled and feeling angry and in the fighting and revenge mood? You are not pleasing God over that issue or at that time. The feeling of Cain is the result of disobedience to God. When you have the Cain feeling, then try to make right whatever you are doing wrong.
