February 1. Numbers ch 8-11
TIME TO SEEK KNOWLEDGE
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge [of My law, where I reveal My will]. Because you [the priestly nation] have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you from being My priest. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.” Hosea 4:6 AMP
GOOD DAY: Happy new month of February. I believe you would have formed some demands that you want to focus on to get from God this year. There are some demands that could be life or death by human estimations but with God it may be different. Listen to what He says: ““For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9 NASB1995
God’s thoughts are higher than our thoughts. By man’s thoughts, the end result of most occurrences can be predicted by the laws of nature. To operate at a higher thought level is by faith. If you don’t have knowledge of faith, then you may be discouraged and your expectations are destroyed if not yourself. I will illustrate this with two stories of beloved dead people: the Shunamite woman who lost her son.
“When the child was grown, the day came that he went out to his father to the reapers. He said to his father, “My head, my head.” And he said to his servant, “Carry him to his mother.” When he had taken him and brought him to his mother, he sat on her lap until noon, and then died. She went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut the door behind him and went out. Then she called to her husband and said, “Please send me one of the servants and one of the donkeys, that I may run to the man of God and return.” So she went and came to the man of God to Mount Carmel. When the man of God saw her at a distance, he said to Gehazi his servant, “Behold, there is the Shunammite. Please run now to meet her and say to her, ‘Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with the child?’ ” And she answered, “It is well.””
2 Kings 4:18-22, 25-26 NASB1995. She did not bury him but believed God will raise him up through the man of God. The second story the story of Lazarus;
“So when Jesus came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days. Martha then said to Jesus, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died. Even now I know that whatever You ask of God, God will give You.” Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.””John 11:17, 21-24 NASB1995
Lazarus died and he was buried.
Mary and Martha operated in the thought of man; they buried Lazarus even when they knew he was beloved of Jesus. The Shunamite woman operated in the thought of God and did not bury her son but went to the man of God who prophesied the son for her. You can see the two thought lines and the two ways that the same thing was done; the two dead people were raised back to life. This month, we shall seek the knowledge of God.
PRAY: Dear Lord, I ask that you make me desire Your knowledge and make me patient till I get understanding.
