SETTLE IN YOUR NEW LOCATION

December 5.   Galatians Chi 1-3

SETTLE IN YOUR NEW LOCATION

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God. Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭15‬-‭17‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

GOOD DAY: A UBER driver in London was telling me about his experience when he first relocated to London. He happens to be from a country where they drive without regard to traffic rules. He was fined three times for minor traffic offences and warned that his licence would be cancelled at the next offence. He had to withdraw from driving for some months to tell himself that he had come to a different country with different habits. This is how it goes when you relocate spiritually. What guards your decision is no longer what you will gain from it or any selfish intention but the peace of Christ. Your language too changes. This could be easy for children who relocated early but for adults who have been grounded in worldly communication, this is tough. I didn’t find this language stuff easy and sometimes when I meet my old-time gist partners, we all still revert to the old language. The only difference is that I have a nudge in my spirit to stop. In your new location, thankfulness is the mindset. No complaining. I had a little difficulty with this as well because I was used to perpetually complaining about everything that did not go well. In my physical location then, not many things go right. The traffic was bad, the electricity was epileptic and many other things. However, I found that when I was able to give thanks in all the circumstances, I stopped being too pained by them. Last but not least, you do all things in thoughts and words in the name of the Lord. This sounds easy but in a world where life is contrary to all that the new kingdom stands for, one needs great grace. The conclusion of the matter though is having lived the kingdom of God life, I have enjoyed more joy and peace of mind. I pray that I will be more conformed to life in Christ.

PRAY: Dear Lord, please make my life more conformed to Christ.
