SIMPLE YET POTENT

SIMPLE YET POTENT.

“But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.”

2 Corinthians 11:3 NASB 1995

GOOD DAY: The simplicity of devotion to Christ reminds me of the story of Naaman the Syrian. Summary of it goes forth.

Naaman despised the simplicity of Elisha’s instruction and almost missed his miracle. Many are missing the salvation of their souls because of the simplicity of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and Saviour of your soul and many cannot because it is too simple. Jesus says come to me all you that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. That is too simple so they don’t believe and refuse to come to Jesus. He says be anxious for nothing but in all things by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God and the peace of God that passes all understanding will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We refuse and keep worrying to the point of falling sick.

It is time to stop being Naaman but trust and see that the simple message of Jesus Christ has power to save not just for eternal life but for life here as well.

God help us to see the power and the efficacy of God’s spoken word in Jesus name.

Most times we forget that this physical world that we inhabit was formed by God’s spoken word. The spoken word is that powerful! Whatever God says might seem simple and insignificant but It is as powerful as an atomic bomb!

Bearing this in mind it is also very crucial to be mindful of our thoughts and words especially in ‘trying times’ because they are as real as what we see around us.
