October 27. Luke ch 19-21
STABILITY IN AN UNSTABLE WORLD
““Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”” Matthew 11:28-30 NASB1995
GOOD DAY. For a long time now, I have wondered how to go to Jesus. When He was walking the streets of Jerusalem, it was easy to go to Him, touch the hem of His garment or sit at His feet. Dolly Parton in her song Hello God said if Jesus is looking down now, He would see that life was easier in his time on earth than now. Jesus said anybody who seeks shall find. In my search for how to anchor my soul in these turbulent times when everyone is weary and heavy laden, I found the answer to how to answer Jesus’ invitation to me to come. Jesus is unseen likewise my spirit man or inner man is unseen. My inner man consists of my thoughts and imagination.
I can either fuel or feed my thoughts and imagination from the outside world by way of my five senses and my interpretation or perception of what they see. The soul that does this will not have rest or peace because outside situations are ever changing. The thing that satisfies today can become a source of pain or worry tomorrow. There is no sure anchor for the soul in outward things. That is why Jesus said in the world you will have tribulation: but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. John 16:33
My imagination however can be triggered, fueled and fed from deep within me. It is what you keep there that will feed your imagination. I can imagine myself with Jesus. I can see Him as I perceive Him to be and listen to Him. With my senses and thoughts quietened, I can hear Him talk to me. There I can tell Him what I want and He will reassure me with peace and joy. Years back, I asked a carpenter to make a triangular prayer table for me. One side for God the Father, another for the Son and the third for me as the Holy Spirit is in me. I imagine all of us there present and I directed my thoughts to them until I could feel them. O the joy and peace of having revelations given to me. I don’t know why I stopped but I stopped it. Now I have an understanding of what I was doing then. You can come to Jesus in your imagination instead of going to the world or anybody.
PRAY: Draw me close to You Lord. Give me a deeper personal understanding of today’s truth.
