tasting the Lord

July 8.       Psalms ch 104-105

TASTING THE LORD

“Then the Lord your God will prosper you abundantly in all the work of your hand, in the offspring of your body and in the offspring of your cattle and in the produce of your ground, for the Lord will again rejoice over you for good, just as He rejoiced over your fathers; if you obey the Lord your God to keep His commandments and His statutes which are written in this book of the law, if you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and soul. “For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach. But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it. Deuteronomy 30:9-11, 14 NASB1995

GOOD DAY: Yesterday, Jesus invited us to taste Him and see that He is good. Some people asked that if He is good, He should have taken their challenges away since they met Him. To that I say we will always have challenges as long as we are in this fallen world. People usually misrepresent Jesus to us when they appeal to our lower senses in His name. Jesus never promised a challenge free life but he promised His ever abiding presence with us in all situations.

To taste food, you put it in your mouth likewise to taste the Lord, you put His word in your mouth. You chew it by saying it to yourself over and over until it

enters your heart and becomes your nature or your perspective guiding how and what you think, say and do. Then, you will see the goodness of God as He honors His word in you. I have tasted one word of God for years and I am still not tired of eating it. It is  “And He said, “My presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.”” Exodus 33:14 NASB

There are many others but I have found that it is the presence of God with me that matters not necessarily the challenges. Jesus also promised to be with me at all times. The comfort and strength of Jesus has been sufficient to take me through all trials and joyful occasions still standing. Start reading or listening to the whole Bible from today and see how God will begin to manifest in your life proving His goodness.

PRAY: Dear Lord, the totality of Your word is You Lord. May my interest grow in your word and transform me to Your image.

Hmmmmmm…yes His presence is ever guaranteed. My greatest fear is the absence of God.
