THE BASIC LIVING LAW
““So then, in everything treat others the same way you want them to treat you, for this is [the essence of]the Law and the [writings of the] Prophets.” Matthew 7:12 AMP
GOOD DAY: My mum used to say whatever you do to others, you are doing to yourself anytime any of us was not nice to others. I didn’t understand what she was saying until I grew up and started seeing the outworking of the above law in life. I notice that any response I fear from people are responses that I believe and had given out several times to others but was scared to have from anyone. Even when you are wronged and you feel you should take revenge, do it with the kind of leniency you expect from others when you too miss the mark. We are farmers on earth. What we sow into life we reap. If you treat others wickedly, you will reap wickedness from the earth. The earth will make others treat you with the same disposition that you treat others.
A man felt offended by his mother’s friend and he was determined to take a bitter revenge. He was so mean with the woman not minding her age. His wife pleaded with him to let go but he refused. A few months later, he offended his wife and she decided that she was leaving him as she could not let go of the offense. He was so apologetic and depressed but the wife did not look back. No wonder Jesus said we should pray for our enemies and bless those who despitefully use us. It is tough just as sowing is tough for a farmer. When you sow to your enemy’s life, you will reap what you sow many times over. Please remember that others are actually part of you as the same breath of God is in all of us keeping us alive.
PRAY: Dear Lord Jesus, it is easier to think others deserve whatever way I treat them not knowing I am setting the standard for myself by the way I treat others. Thanks for showing me. Help me Lord to treat others as myself in Jesus name.
