the king, THE KING, and the wise men

December 25.    Revelation ch 5-9

THE king, THE KING AND THE WISE MEN.

“After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.””  Matthew 2:12 NIV

MERRY CHRISTMAS. Congratulations to you for a time of salvation from the Herods of your life has come again!

(1) Our Lord Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem. In Hebrew, the city’s name is pronounced “Beit-lehem.” “Beit” means house and “Lechem” means bread – together being House of Bread” meaning your source of life.

a) The wise men did not go to Bethlehem but instead went to Jerusalem asking, “Where is the newborn king of the Jews?” We have seen his star as it arose,* and we have come to worship him.”

Jerusalem over the centuries has also taken on a redemptive significance, based on its root meaning – ir shalom – city of peace – with the hope that it becomes a place of harmony for all peoples and the capital of a world at one with itself.

 I) Why did they go to Jerusalem where Herod was the king to announce the birth of another king and to say that they had come to worship him!  To challenge everything that has given false hope of peace and declare that the Prince Of Peace is born in the House of bread. May you experience Peace of God in your House of Bread.

This is for Herod to search the bible and to find out exactly where our Jesus Christ was born and to fulfill the prophecy.

This also teaches us about how detailed God is with information. If the wise men had gone to Bethlehem the story would have ended there, they were now announcers of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, A NEW BORN KING OF THE JEWS,!! not for Bethlehem but for the whole world as at the time.

He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and and with fire

He is ready to separate the chaff from the grain with his winnowing fork. Then he will clean up the threshing area, storing the grain in his barn but burning the chaff with never ending fire.” John 3: 11d-12 He will clear your heart of all chaff with the wind and fire of the Holy Spirit.

1)John The Baptist is the forerunner of our Lord Jesus Christ. God prepared John as the announcer of our Lord Jesus Christ with the assignment of baptizing people with water. This assignment and his teaching drew attention to him so people would hear his pronouncement of who Jesus Christ is and what he was coming to do. This also helped prepare and open up the inner mind of the grain for winnowing.

(a) He alone would baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire.

(b) He has the winnowing fork (his message of salvation) with which he would sift through the grain and the chaff.

(c) Those who have accepted him and his teachings will be the grain that he will store and will return to his father as the accomplishment of his assignment.

(d) The chaff (those who have rejected him and his teaching)will end up in the never ending fire.

If you accept the teaching of Jesus in your heart, you will have PEACE of God that passes all understanding no matter the storms of Life. Welcome Jesus Christ into your heart and world today.
