THE SUPREME ACQUISITIONS
“Wisdom is supreme – so acquire wisdom, and whatever you acquire, acquire understanding!” Proverbs 4:7 NET
GOOD DAY: Much as we labor to acquire material things, few people actually see an increase in their material acquisition while most people remain the same or are even getting poorer. This trend has made so many people raise questions about how true the prosperity messages preached in different forms are and preachers are being termed scammers. The bible actually gives the commodities that we should labor to acquire. They are WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING. When Solomon was given an open cheque by God to ask for whatever he wanted, Solomon asked for wisdom. With wisdom, God gave him every other thing in super abundance.
“Where then does wisdom come from? And where is the place of understanding? “God understands its way, And He knows its place. And to man He said, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; And to depart from evil is understanding.’ ”” Job 28:20,23 NASB1995
“For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6 NASB1995
Wisdom, knowledge and understanding come from God so we need to make wisdom, understanding and knowledge a principal prayer point. The fear of the Lord and wisdom is to do His commandments. ““See, I have taught you statutes and judgments just as the Lord my God commanded me, that you should do thus in the land where you are entering to possess it. So keep and do them, for that is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’” Deuteronomy 4:5-6 NASB1995
This is the fear of the Lord and your wisdom and understanding; to obey whatever He commands. Tomorrow, we shall consider the dynamics of listening to and obeying God.
