November 15. Acts ch 27- Romans ch 1
ANCHOR FOR THE SOUL
But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift. As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, Ephesians 4:7, 14-15 NASB1995
GOOD DAY. In a world filled with changing and conflicting lies everyday, the soul that is not anchored in a sure foundation will be fearful and confused leading to all sorts of mental health issues that have formed the concerns of the world. There will always be wind of doctrines formulated by the trickery of men and craftiness in deceitful scheming. It is left to each of us to anchor his soul in the truth that is unshakeable. Also, each one of us is to decide where he wants to build his anchor of truth from. I have chosen to build mine from the word of God THE HOLY BIBLE. Christ is the only person that was born of a woman who lived without sin but died for our sin, buried for three days and rose again to life having conquered death on behalf of all who will believe in Him. This belief in the work of Christ is the sure foundation of the anchor for the soul. Man’s greatest fear and last enemy is the fear of death in any form ranging from death of business, relationship and whatever one derives pleasure and joy from until the final day when the man himself will return to dust. It is this fear that people play on to formulate doctrines and theories that blow those who are not well anchored in Christ to be like people of the world blown about by every wind of doctrine.
SUMMARY OF THE SURE ANCHOR.
Jesus gave us the truth that forms the anchor that does not fail. it is in the scripture below:
“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:1-3 NASB1995
Herein lies the faith of the believer that makes him remain steadfast no matter what is happening in the world and conspiracy theories going around will not disturb his soul knowing that should the worst happen, there is resurrection. Death is not the end of his story but life. This assurance makes it easy for a believer in Christ to hold on to living for Him in the face of the different schemes of men.
Another truth that is fundamental in life in Christ is to appreciate that there is time for everything under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1-10. Whatever the situation is, today will live out its time but the truth of Christ remains unchanging.
I invite you to find the anchor for your soul in Christ.
