November 28. 1 Corinthians ch 9-11
THE WINNING PERSPECTIVE.
“No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy].”

GOOD DAY: Temptations are real as we all know; the hardships that are experienced now are quite trying and tormenting that people even believe that they can no longer bear it. God however gives us a perspective here that reinforces hope and keeps us standing in faith in spite of temptations. The story of Joseph in Egypt narrates the demonstration of this perspective. Let us look at the perspective. First, there is a place where you have pitched your stand. It is to have faith in God. Second is that there is no temptation that is peculiar to you alone. That temptation you feel is peculiar to you alone is being experienced by others. It is common and not strange. Any temptation you can see as common, you have overcome fifty percent. Third is that God will not allow you to be tempted more than you are able to bear. If the temptation is there then you have the capacity to bear it without falling. God is the Master Engineer. He knows the strength of His material. The final part of this perspective is that God makes a way of escape from the temptation taking us out of faith in Him. The story of Joseph in Genesis chapters 39 to 41 tells this story. So are you under temptation to lose faith or tired of it all and wishing it should all end? Change your perspective today. There is hope, fan your hope and stand. The temptation is common; don’t turn yourself into an easy prey for it. Your way of escape is there in you. Listen to it and not to the temptations.
PRAY: Thank You Lord for Your way of escape for me from whatever may be troubling me and for being my strength to bear it. Open my eyes and ears to perceive it instead of just the loud bound of the temptation.
