August 1.      Isaiah ch 11-14

THIS IS GRACE

“God’s marvelous grace has manifested in person, bringing salvation for everyone. This same grace teaches us how to live each day as we turn our backs on ungodliness and indulgent lifestyles, and it equips us to live self-controlled, upright, godly lives in this present age.” Titus 2:11-12 TPT

GOOD DAY: When I heard people talk of grace as if it is given to some people and not others, I used to wonder why grace was not given to me. A colleague of mine at work had an abusive husband. He would not only abuse her verbally but physically too. She endured it and remained with him, grew at work, her children all did well and they were together till she passed at the age of seventy. She endured a lot then because of her catholic faith that gave her the components of grace that made her stay in the marriage. At that time, those that could not hold their marriages said God gave her grace and did not give them. 

Much later, when I accepted Christ as my Lord and Saviour and surrendered my life to Him, I understood the meaning of grace when I came in contact with our passage for meditation today. Grace is empowerment to choose what is right and flee evil. Grace is not a free gift for material or temporal things that we see. Grace is the power to stand in and for the will of God even in the face of temptation and persecution. 

Grace is given to everybody. It is the essence of God in each of us. 

““Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” Acts 20:32 NIV

His grace is in His word. Grace empowers us to walk in His word so we can have an inheritance with His children. No matter your condition, the grace of God makes one live his purpose on earth. Apostle Paul had a thorn in his flesh which He took to God three times. Each time, God told him that His grace was all that Paul needed for in Paul’s weakness, God’s power is perfected. Whenever you are weak, ask God for Grace to help. 

PRAY: Dear Lord, I pray today that I will appreciate Your grace in my life and live to please You than myself and the world.
