TIRED AND WANT A GOOD CHANGE IN YOUR LIFE AND LAND

October 23.                                     Luke ch 7-9

WHAT CAN WE DO FOR GOOD CHANGE TO HAPPEN? (1)

                            [OUR SITUATION NOW]

Now then, listen to their voice; however, you shall solemnly warn them and tell them of the procedure of the king who will reign over them.” So Samuel spoke all the words of the Lord to the people who had asked of him a king. He said, “This will be the procedure of the king who will reign over you: he will take your sons and place them for himself in his chariots and among his horsemen and they will run before his chariots. He will appoint for himself commanders of thousands and of fifties, and some to do his plowing and to reap his harvest and to make his weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. He will also take your daughters for perfumers and cooks and bakers. He will take the best of your fields and your vineyards and your olive groves and give them to his servants. He will take a tenth of your seed and of your vineyards and give to his officers and to his servants. He will also take your male servants and your female servants and your best young men and your donkeys and use them for his work. He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his servants. Then you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the Lord will not answer you in that day.”        1 Samuel 8:9‭-‬18 NASB1995

GOOD DAY. Today, the whole world reads the news about a good part of my country being flooded. Apart from ranking very high in corruption, our leaders do not care about the lives of the citizens. Our former president’s mother’s home was being flooded and people were rescuing his aged mother from being drowned yet he was in the capital receiving some award from the current president! We make so much money yet we end up borrowing so much from whatever country cares to listen and loan us money. Our picture today is like the picture of Israelites when they chose that God should not be their king. All our walls are broken down and we wonder ‘what can we do for change to happen?” If you belong to a country under siege from corrupt leaders and a small few associated with them, then what can you do as an individual to free your country?

This is where to start. Accept that the battle is not physical. You cannot fight it with weapons of warfare of any sort. The battle is spiritual against principalities and powers and spiritual wickedness in heavenly places. Consider the story we are looking at today, relate it to your country as it affects modern life and purpose that today is the last day that you are going to think of your country in this state. Tomorrow, we shall look at another presentation of what we want to see and the way to take our country there. If you are worried about the state of your country and really want a change for good, then prepare for a simple non disruptive or violent action that is very effective. Today as you relate this story of the Israelites to your country, repent of your own refusal of God to be your head and king. Then repent of the whole country refusing to have God as King over her. Repent of choosing God of gold and silver and self over the only living God. When we do this, He will hear us as we begin the journey to peaceful change for good results tomorrow.

PRAY: Dear Lord Jesus, I confess that I and my people have sinned against You and reject You as our Leader. Please forgive us. We are asking You to come back and take authority over us. Thank You for answering us in Jesus name.
